Inuit Throat Singing

Inuit throat singing or katajjaq, also known (and commonly confused) under the generic term overtone singing, is a form of musical performance among the Inuit. Unlike the throat singers in other regions of the world, the Inuit performers are usually women who sing only duets in a kind of entertaining contest to see who can outlast the other. Choreographer Meryl Tankard uses inuit throat singing as soundtrack in the production of Inuk 2 with Sydney Dance Company.

Aether

When I go to see contemporary dance performances, or any artwork really, I like to inform myself, read some learn something about the piece then I get the most out of the experience by engaging with the artwork corporeally rather than rationally.

Chris Boyd on his blog called The Morning After the Night Before: Performimg Arts in Australia says "We need to turn off the visual cortex. We need to see with the body. To try to apprehend rather than comprehend."
