Alexander Calder

Kinetic sculpture fascinated me as a youngster. The work of Alex Calder is particularly beautiful. He managed to captivate the qualities of spontaneous random motion with such grace and intelligence.

His work can be seen at the Guggenheim, his life story with more links including documentary footage and one very useful Linear Sculpture Lesson Plan.
