Art of Noise

Synaesthetic experience happens when we see sound and hear colour. Said Kandinsky "Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul."

Metaphors are grounded in our bodily experiences in the world. Artists use metaphors to bridge differences between seemingly dissimilar images and ideas. In art, synesthesia and metaphor are united. Through the arts, the synesthetic experience became communicable, and blended with a personal vision.

Violonchelista Arturo Bragaglia, 1913
