The territory of human being

The relationship of people in the contemporary city is a very serious issue. The mass spread of digital devices such as mobile phones and Internet (SMS, Twitter etc.) have made it easy to communicate with others instantly, but on the other hand there are many people who have trouble in establishing a face-to-face relationship. They cannot mix with people but they don't want to be alone. This is a dilemma.


Chihiro Sasaki （佐々木千尋）is a London based illustrator/ artist. Originally from Japan, Tokyo, she studied and graduated from BA(Hons) Graphic Design at Cenral Saint Martins College of Art and Design in University of the Arts London in 2010.


She intends to encourage people to think about their own personal habits, which may hinder the communication process. Such defence mechanisms are often ignored,because in some cultures it is considered better to be honest and friendly to everyone. I did not want to make this project too dark, but make it comical enough to be accepted.
