Pilgrimage of Hope community of Kolkata, India 2011 were encouraged to reflect each evening on a moment of grace. This was easy enough to do in a supportive environment amidst the Sisters of Charity who are inspired by Mother Teresa in a country that is known as being the spiritual heart of the world.
My challenge now we have returned to affluent Australia is to notice one daily act of grace here, where kindness has been commodified by advertising agencies. Does grace survive materialism? I will find out.
Witnessing grace nourishes the soul. We do not have to be religious to notice it but we do need to have internal quiet. As a reminder of the qualities of tenderness and beauty I will endeavour to record one such moment on this Moment of Grace blog each day.
