Not Drowning

A sea of waving hands greeted my question to the class. During my teaching internship I made a series of work using PhotoShop that reflect my experience as a fledgling educator. I often felt I was surfing the energy of adolescents in my classroom as I gained the confidence to instruct and harness their creativity, directing them to express, explore and examine their output as well as providing a bridge for them to investigate and appreciate beautiful and interesting artworks.
I overlayed an image of the sea with a palm print that looks like a topographical map for the background, altering the tone, contrast and colours in the flesh of my hand in the foreground.
